Opportunities & Events - these are on offer for those on the programme to sign up to if they would like.

The Maccabi GB Leadership Half Term scheme for primary aged children will be a chance for our Leadership participants to volunteer and lead young children. This is great experience and the perfect addition to a CV.

Maccabi GB Leadership work with Jewish Care and Langdon & Kisharon and will host volunteering days with the organisations as well as link the participants of our programme with the organisations staff to plan their own activities.

Maccabi GB Leadership participants can obtain work experience with Maccabi GB. Alternatively, the Maccabi GB Leadership manager will be able to connect participants with other organisations and people of different fields.

Maccabi GB Community Fun Run is the largest Jewish event in the UK. The Maccabi GB Leadership participants will be able to volunteer and are an integral part to the delivery of this event.
Functional Leadership Skills Qualification
(subsidised cost of £25) – formerly Sports Leaders UK.

Year 10 – Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership

Year 11 – Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership

Year 12 & 13 – Level 3 Award in Sports Leadership & 16 UCAS points. (participants must complete both years in order to get the qualification)

There is a booklet for each participant that signs up to FLS. They will be able to attend our office to get support with their booklet. Alternatively, participants can complete the booklet at home themselves.
March Residential Trip
This March, our participants came together for our annual Leadership Residential. With close to 45 young people in attendance, we dived into lots of exciting programmes. Highlights included engaging evening sessions planned and run by our Y12/13s, Shabbat games and learning about barriers in sport. One of our Year 13s shared, ‘It was amazing this weekend to have the opportunity to put all my learning into practice...it felt like such an achievement’.
We are really impressed with how our participants threw themselves into the weekend. From lively discussions to fun sports sessions, the weekend was a hit! We look forward to seeing what our leaders will bring to the future of Maccabi GB, whether that be through the upcoming EMYG as volunteers and managers, and other community engagements beyond.
