MACCABIAH GAMES CELEBRATED ON ROYAL MAIL CUSTOMISED LIMITED EDITION STAMP SHEET
The 18th Maccabiah Games are to be officially commemorated in a new Limited Edition stamp issue to be produced by Royal Mail in conjunction with leading British Stamp Dealer, Steven Schusman, MD of the Strand Stamp Centre in London. It is thought to be the first time that the Hebrew language has appeared in conjunction with a British stamp. The sheet is Licensed by the Maccabiah Games, and 10% of proceeds will benefit Maccabi.
Commenting on the issue, Steven observed that the design of the new Official Maccabiah Limited Edition embraced all 18 Games and reproduced the Maccabiah posters of each of the previous events as well as that of the current games, and its logos, making a fitting tribute to the thousands of British athletes who have participated in the event since its inception.
Just 1000 numbered sheets will be available and these are destined to become important collectors items. The price is £29.95 and please allow 10 days for delivery.
