OCTOBER 11-14, 2018 PARIS, FRANCE
The seminar was planned and organized by the EMC
FLF team: Robert Cohen, Danielle Bensky, Barbara Burian and Joel Mendels, with the support of the EMC Executive, the EMC Shaliach, Or Ben Simhon, and the Maccabi France organizing team headed by Edwin Birstein.
More than 75 people from 20 countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, GB, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and Israel) took part in the seminar.
Most of the participants arrived on Thursday morning to the beautiful city of lights, Paris. The weather was remarkable, as well as the atmosphere from the very beginning.
As always, also this FLF seminar was about hard work and strong bonding between our Maccabi family members from all over Europe, in order to maintain our international community as a strong, powerful unit.
Some of the finest Jewish/Israeli minds and speakers were invited:
The first to open the seminar with a big boost of motivation and understanding of "why we are all here" was the EMC Chairman, Motti Tichauer, who also gave a review of the glorious history of the Maccabi Movement.
Dema Taya, an Arabic-Muslim-Israeli woman came to this FLF after traveling all over the world to tell the truth about the state of Israel and the conflict with the Palestinians.
Mr. Yossi Katribas, a high ranked officer in the Israeli army's intelligence, former Vice CEO of the Prime Minister's office and currently a successful global entrepreneur, gave the future young leaders a review of the strategic surroundings of the Start-Up Nation, as well as the challenges and opportunities in the business arena.
The award winning bestseller author, David Bolchover, gave a shivering speech about his book "Greatest Comeback: From Genocide to Football Glory", a story of Jewish heroism during the Holocaust from the perspective of one of the biggest winner athletes and coaches of all times - Bela Guttman.
Nacho Trujillo, former managing director of innovation and global development for La Liga, told us about professional sports innovation, but mostly about his vision to create a better future to the world through sports innovation.
Robert Cohen gave an inspirational and well feed backed speech about "top tips for entrepreneurs".
Alexandru Filimon, a 4 times Karate world champion, talked to the participants about a winning mindset - how to become a champion in anything you put your mind to.
The rest of the sessions were dedicated to panels and group workshops, with many high level mentors from various fields of the business world, who gave the participants some significantly useful tools for the road ahead of them, and by FLF alumni, who told their inspirational stories and shared how the FLF experience influenced their professional and personal life.
As it is well known, FLF seminars are mostly about learning and personal development. But they are also about Judaism, tradition, networking, meeting new Jewish friends, making many strong friendships, and also - a lot of fun!
Thursday night started with a French Bistro experience. At Friday everyone enjoyed the usual highlight of the weekend - the Maccabi Shabbat dinner, with a beautiful service in the Jewish school synagogue, led by one of the participants from Netherlands, Danny Sebbag. Another highlight was the Saturday night's Havdalah/Gala sushi dinner/international party, with 200 local and international friends. A remarkable experience that will be remembered for a long time.
Of course a weekend in Paris cannot be completed without a sightseeing tour - after the Sunday morning sessions and lunch at the hotel, the participants could enjoy a walking sightseeing tour in the center of Paris and a beautiful sunny Sunday Afternoon.
As reported by all participants, this seminar was an experience to remember and one of the best seminars ever! No one was left behind socially or professionally and the social media is flooded with messages asking about the next FLF.
