Streetwise is Growing

The Streetwise team has grown again thanks to the continued commitment from Maccabi GB and CST. Ashley Lerner, 24 and Simonne Turner, 23, have been joined the team as the new Project Supervisor and Project Worker respectively.

Streetwise works with Jewish schools and Community organisations, enhancing the personal safety and personal development of young Jewish people to support their safe, physical, and emotional well being. Ashley commented, “There are so many pressures on today’s youth that they need an organisation to help them reach their potential, and I am really enthusiastic about working within such a fantastic project”.

Sessions offer young people the opportunity to learn the skills to keep them safe when out and about as well as the confidence and techniques to deal with issues such as demands from school, peer pressure, relationships and antisemitism.

Streetwise’s reputation continues to grow with approximately 8,000 young people experiencing a Streetwise session throughout the last year. Simonne, now responsible for the Streetwise courses, said “I am full of new innovative and creative ideas and I am so excited to put them into practice. The courses we offer are fun and inspiring and each participant will come away with many new skills and friends!”

There are 3 courses starting from the October half term for school years 7 to 9. All our courses are completely free and are held in North London.
