Inspire Mark

School Sports Programme

Maccabi GB's Sports Clubs and Tournaments was recently awarded the Inspire Mark from London 2012. The Inspire programme, which awards the Mark, is a scheme run by London 2012 and incorporates projects across the sport, culture, education, environment, volunteering and business sectors. The inspire mark is awarded to innovative, inspiring and outstanding projects across the UK that will help deliver a lasting legacy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are currently the only Jewish organisation to have been awarded the Inspire Mark. Inspire Mark

Maccabi GB engages over 1,000 young people each week through our free PE curriculum lessons, after school and lunchtime clubs. These clubs are designed to provide participants with the skills and confidence to engage in a wide range of sporting activities.

Alongside our Sports Clubs we also deliver Sports Tournaments to both Primary and Secondary age groups. We deliver Secondary School Tournaments and Primary School Tournaments in nine different sports. The tournaments will engage children in their early schools years, as young as seven years old right through to sixth formers who are eighteen years old. Each year we expect more than 3,500 young people to participate at a Maccabi GB school sports tournament.

Before we started delivering these sports tournaments, they simply did not take place, and they provide the only occasion when the Jewish schools join together for sporting activities.
