2nd Leadership Weekend Details
MACCABI GB IS PLEASED TO INVITE YOU TO JOIN THE 2ND WEEKEND OF THE
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME!
Each year Maccabi GB trains 100 young Jewish people to become leaders in their communities and you could be one of them. It is not too late to join the programme for this year and I hope that you will consider joining us for what will be another fun-filled Leadership Weekend.
Participation
Maccabi GB Leadership training takes place over three residential weekends each year. The programme is open to young Jewish people between 14 and 18 who are willing to take on the responsibility of being a Maccabi GB Madrich/a (Leader).
Age
14-15 (Year 10) - Foundation - Junior Sports Leader Award (JSLA)
15-16 (Year 11) - Intermediate - Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA)
16-17 (Year 12) - Advanced - Higher Sports Leader Award Year 1 (HSLA 1)
17-18 (Year 13) - Garin - Higher Sports Leader Award Year 2 (HSLA 2)
Skills and Opportunities
All Maccabi GB Leadership Courses cover core skills necessary to become a capable and confident Jewish Leader:
o Leadership Theory
o Communication and Team Work
o Programme Writing
o Management and Organisation
o Jewish and Israel Knowledge
o Personal and Social Issues
The Sports Leader Award is a nationally recognised qualification governed by Sports Leaders UK and can help you get a job in sport or get into further education.
The weekends provide a chance to socialise with 100 participants from all over Great Britain. The evening programmes and meal times are always fun with time to get to know new people and there is an extensive calendar of Maccabi GB events between weekends where Madrichim can meet up with their friends.
For every Maccabi GB Madrich/a (leader) there is a Maccabi GB opportunity. We are always looking for more ways to expand these opportunities and ensure that our chanichim (participants) have a wide range of ways to give back to their communities.
