Where can I play lawn bowls?
We are looking to create a network of lawn bowlers who are looking to play fixtures and community events.
The 10th Maccabi GB Lawn Bowls Association's Israel Tour took place in October 2022 with 29 bowlers and 6 non-bowlers enjoying an extensive programme of visits to vital national institutions, places of historical interest, and lawn bowls competitions in Haifa, Kiryat Ono, and Ra'anana. The Maccabi Lawn Bowls Israel Tour 2023 is a unique way to share playing bowls with the Israel experience.
Matches are organised against Israel’s bowling clubs in Ra’anana, Kiryat Ono, Ramat Gan and Haifa which are played early evening under floodlight and followed by a meal provided by the hosting club before the touring party returns to their accommodation base in Kfar Maccabiah.
The 2023 tour will include some cultural, educational, sporting and social elements although is designed with more emphasis on recreation than in previous years. The 7-day tour includes two free days on Friday and Saturday so there is the opportunity to see family and/or friends or just relax at the hotel’s country club (see the website http://www.kmc-hotel.co.il/ for full details of the hotel facilities). Non-bowlers are very much part of the group and alternative arrangements are organised for them when bowling matches are in progress.
The cost of 7 night’s accommodation with breakfast and Friday night dinner is as below which is similar to last year as follows:
2 people sharing a standard classic double room - £1,900 Each additional day @ £145
Single occupancy in a standard Classic room - £1,150 Each additional day @ £130
2 people sharing a superior double room/studio - £2,000 Each additional day @ £160
Single occupancy in a superior room/studio - £1,250 Each additional day at £140
2 people sharing a Business Classic* double room – £2,100
Each additional day at £170
Single occupancy in a Business Classic* room - £1,300 Each additional day at £150
2 people sharing a Premium room (suite with bedroom & lounge) - £2,300 Each additional day £200
The cost does not include air fares but does include coach travel, entrance fees, uniforms, dinner at bowls clubs and non-bowlers’ activities.
Although hotel and other costs have increased prices are being maintained similar to last year as not all meals are included and the exchange rate has been moving in the right direction. Of course, things can change and as in previous years the right is reserved to introduce a surcharge if necessary although there may even be a reduction should the exchange rate continue to improve!
The tour officially starts on Tuesday 10 October and concludes on Tuesday 17 October although participants often arrive several days earlier and/or stay on afterwards either at Kfar Maccabiah (the reservation is arranged for you) or booking into an hotel in Tel Aviv, Herzlya, Netanya, Jerusalem etc.
The information given above is subject to change if necessary
