Maccabi GB Chanukah Campaign 2020
On behalf of everyone at Maccabi GB, thank you for supporting our ‘Miracle of Maccabi GB’ fundraising campaign. We are delighted to let you know that with the support of the community and our ‘match funding’ donor, we have raised an incredible £70,000. Each day we focused on fundraising for eight of our programmes and projects which included; our International Games, the Community Fun Run, the Challenge Tour to Israel, PE sessions and after school clubs and our education programmes; Yellow Candle, Streetwise, Stand Up! and Leadership by Streetwise. The support we have received will help us continue to work towards our aim for an ‘Active Jewish Community’.

Over the past 3 weeks, Maccabi GB and The Jewish Chronicle have been running ‘My Family Chanukiah Competition’.
Stephen Pollard, The JC Editor and David Pinnick, Chairman of Maccabi GB, judged the competition and they were blown away by the calibre of the entries received.
We are delighted to announce that Hannah and Miriam Halaby are the winners of ‘My Family Chanukiah Competition.’ Hannah and Miriam are 4 year old twins, who are also best friends and are in Reception at Wolfson Hillel Primary School. They designed their Chanukiyot with the people and things that light up their lives, including their 10 month old sister Hadassah. They wanted to make them as bright and glittery as they possibly could to spread as much light out from every family to every other person this Chanukah.
Hannah and Miriam's winning entry featured on the front page of this week's Jewish Chronicle and the shortlisted entries were featured on the back page.
On behalf of Maccabi GB and The Jewish Chronicle, we would like to thank you all for submitting your entries.
