Maccabi GB Interschool Sports Tournament - Wednesday 17th November This week we held the Girls Netball Tournament for year 6 as part of the Interschool Sports Tournaments sponsored by All Aboard. There were 130 competitors from ten Jewish Primary schools making up 16 teams. The Tournament was won by Kerem A who beat Matilda Marks Kennedy School A in the final. The B Tournament was won by Kerem B who beat Alma B in the final.
Mitzvah Day - 21st November 2021 This Mitzvah Day Maccabi GB have teamed up with All Aboard. We are encouraging you to donate your unwanted sports kit and equipment.
My Chanukiah competition This is your chance for you to get creative and design your very own Chanukiah. Each branch of the Chanukiah must represent what you are looking to achieve in the next year whether it is at school, with friends or at home.
This competition is open to ages. Entries close at 12pm Wednesday 24th November.
The Inter-charity quiz of the year - Tuesday 14th December The annual Maccabi GB inter-charity quiz returns this year online! We are inviting you to get a team together in person or virtually and join us for the quiz of the year. Which charity will be crowned this year's winners?
Teams of 2-12 people, £5 per person
A percentage of the proceeds will be awarded to the charities who finish in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Interfaith Week In aid of Interfaith Week the Stand Up! team have team delivered 18 sessions reaching 430 students. The team also collaborated on a livestream event with Union of Jewish Students, discussing interfaith relations between the Muslim and Jewish communities. The livestream can be found here.
Antibullying Week The Streetwise team reached a total of 2,900 young people this week, 2,700 for Antibullying sessions. The team have delivered sessions for 9 schools covering North West London, Essex & Manchester. Reaching reception to sixth form.
Leadership by Streetwise
Leadership by Streetwise 2021/22 Leadership by Streetwise registrations are still open. This unique Sports Leadership programme is delivered by Streetwise.
The programme is accredited by Sports Leaders UK and it will give the qualifications and skills needed to lead sports sessions, coach teams and run sporting events, inspiring the community through your passion for sport.
Sports Leaders UK's Level 1, 2 and 3 will stand out on your UCAS form and impress future employers.
Don't miss out on becoming a leader, registrations close on Monday 22nd November.
Maccabiah Open Futsal Prize competition The Maccabiah Open Futsal Squad are looking for your help. They are holding a prize competition for the chance to become the main shirt sponsor for both the ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ tops for the squad. You could win this opportunity simply by purchasing a single £150 ticket! But why buy one?! Please buy as many as you can to help raise much needed funds.
An announcement from Maccabi GB Junior Football League (MGBJFL) Chairman, Marc Levy Held at our two high quality venues, there were 15 fixtures this week competing across the U7, U8, U9, U10 age groups. We have also welcomed an additional squad since the season began.
We would like to thank the competing teams; Hendon United, HMH, North West London Jets, Brondesbury Park Rangers and HGS for their continued support and wish all teams and players the ongoing best of luck for the season.
An announcement from Manchester Jewish Soccer League Chairman, Paul Rose The Peter Morrison National Trophy draw was made this week for the Northern Section. Maccabi Mcr 1st will host Jewventus and Haroldeans will travel to play Leeds Maccabi on Sunday 12th December, and Reich received a bye. 3 teams will progress into the National Last 16.
Last weekend’s results saw Leeds Maccabi lose at home to Jewventus 2-1 and Reich beat BPR 9-1. There are no MJSL matches this Sunday.
An announcement from Maccabi GB Southern Football League Chairman, David Wolff This weekend sees the start of the Cyril Anekstein and Peter Morrison Cup competitions.
They’re being spread over several weeks up to the Year end.
There is also a league programme with some interesting fixtures,
We still have three teams in the London County Cups so the league is in a good place.
