Maccabi GB announce Chief Executive Martin Berliner steps down after 20 years Maccabi GB announced on Monday that their long serving Chief Executive, Martin Berliner will be standing down from his role at the end of December this year. Martin became Maccabi GB’s first Chief Executive in 2000 and over two decades has been instrumental in repositioning the organisation into one of the Community’s most vibrant, active and pioneering Organisations. As he steps away from the day to day running of the charity, he leaves an Organisation that can now boast three of the largest events in the Communal calendar reaching up to 80,000 people per year.
An evening in with Nick Bitel - Monday 30th November Ten days to go! This is your chance to join us for an 'evening in' with Nick Bitel. Nick is the Chief Executive of London Marathon Events and Chair of Sport England. And, not only will you hear about these vital roles, Nick will also be delving into his diverse career including being a qualified solicitor, a member of the World Athletics Development Commission, former Vice-Chair of Wigan Athletic FC and many other roles. Nick will be interviewed by BBC Sports Broadcaster Rob Nothman.
My Family Chanukiah Competition Maccabi GB and The Jewish Chronicle are delighted to launch 'My Family Chanukiah Competition'. Enjoy drawing and getting a little creative? This is your chance to design your very own Chanukiah. This competition will be open to children of all ages, but don’t worry there will be an adult category as well for those aspiring artists within the community. We are looking for each branch of the Chanukiah to represent someone who is important to you and why. Someone perhaps who has dedication, or who brings joy, warmth and light. All entries will be judged by David Pinnick, Chairman of Maccabi GB and by Stephen Pollard, The JC Editor. Entries close at midday on 14th December and the winning entry will have their Chanukiah and story printed in The Jewish Chronicle on 18th December.
Over the past 15 years Streetwise - a partnership project created and funded by Maccabi GB and CST - has directly engaged with 260,000 young people in Jewish Primary and Secondary schools across Great Britain. Since 2005 we have consistently developed and updated our programmes and in 2020, with the subjects of PSHE & RSE becoming essential parts of the National Curriculum, we have undertaken a complete overhaul of our provision for schools. With this, our new logo marks the start of another chapter, as leading provider of informal education in Jewish schools. Watch a video all about Streetwise below!
Anti-Bullying Week 2020 - 16th-20th November The Streetwise team have been visiting schools, holding virtual sessions and hosting an online social media campaign during National Anti-Bullying week 2020.The team have delivered engaging and positive sessions that have seen important conversations taking place in classrooms and ultimately making a difference to young lives. The Streetwise Anti-Bullying campaign will continue throughout November with the team looking forward to visiting many more Jewish schools across the country.

The annual Maccabi GB inter-charity quiz returns this year online in just a few weeks and this year it's bigger and better than ever! 13 charities have already signed up! We are inviting you to gather a team together of 2-12 people and join in on the fun. Which charity will be crowned this year's winners?

Worldwide Maccabi World Union Chanukah broadcast - Sunday 13th December Maccabi World Union are hosting a Chanukah worldwide broadcast on Sunday, 13th December, 4pm UK time. Join with your family and friends and watch with Maccabi members from across the world. The program will also include famous Israeli singers - in a less-than-an-hour broadcast.
