An announcement from Maccabi GB Southern Football League Chairman David Wolff
I am delighted to inform you that Nigel Burns has been awarded the Referees’ Long Service Award by the LONDON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.
He has been refereeing for over 35 years and his son, Josh, is following in his footsteps. He referees in several settings including those of our league.
I am sure that you are all aware of Nigel’s magnificent contribution and dedicated service to grassroots football.
He has been on the Management Committee of the league since 1988 and has served as our Fixtures Secretary for many years.
Alongside this, Nigel is extremely active at Maccabi London, mainly with the Junior/Youth set up and can always be seen at Rowley Lane.
He is one of the many ‘volunteers’ without whom our game could never exist and we must be forever thankful that people like Nigel exist.
I hope to be working with him for many years to come.
Congratulations to you Nigel.
