Oakwood are in action in the LONDON SUNDAY CHALLENGE CUP against AFC Hammersmith Town who are unbeaten in the Harrow Sunday Challenge League. This will undoubtedly be a tough match for them and we all wish them well. Make no mistake, Oakwood are an excellent outfit. This competition is the top Sunday one in London.
Last Sunday, I witnessed North London Raiders match in the LONDON SUNDAY TROPHY, the next ranking competition, They played an excellent game and were leading 2-0 with ten minutes to go but sadly lost that lead and went on to lose on penalties. Nevertheless they proved to be a great credit to our league.
The fact that several of our teams compete in the County Competitions augurs well for our league and community and LONDON FA is pleased to be running the competitions this season where other counties have decided not to because of COVID 19.
COVID 19 is very challenging but every effort is being made to keep football and outdoor events going and I am grateful that everyone is acting sensibly and responsible.
I hope you all have a good weekend.
