The latest news from Maccabi GB
My Chanukiah Competition winners Natan Cohen and Dora-Rose Bamfield Murteria Maccabi GB hosted the ‘My Chanukiah Competition’, where participants were asked to design or create their own Chanukiah and explain how each branch represents something they are looking to achieve in the year ahead whether it is at home, with friends or at school.
All entries were of a very high standard and the judges shortlisted nine young artists coming from across London, Essex and Manchester. The judges really struggled to choose one stand out winner, so eventually they ended up with two outstanding finalists, Natan Cohen, age 8 from Hasmonean Primary School and Dora-Rose Bamfield Murteria, age 9 from Clore Tikva School.

The discipline was much improved last Sunday and I hope this can be maintained.
There seems to be a shortage of Referees Nationwide so we are fortunate that we can get our games covered and we must make every endeavour to retain their services. Not all leagues are as fortunate.
Generally, in London there seems to be an epidemic of abandoned games and, in my role as a disciplinary panel member are dealing with them. Luckily we do not have this problem in the Maccabi League and for this we can thank every Manager and player for that. However, dissent is one of our failings and we need to brush up on that.
Have a good weekend of football.
