An announcement from Maccabi Jewish Soccer League Chairman Paul Rose I am pleased to confirm that The Manchester Jewish Soccer League will be reopening its doors on Sunday 11th April in line with Gov and FA guidance with Sunday 4th not possible due to Passover. All clubs are now gearing up to the restart and confirmation has been given by the authorities that our 73rd season will extend till the end of June. More next week about the current state of play...
An announcement from Maccabi GB Junior Football League chairman Laurence Thorne I am delighted to to confirm that the Maccabi GB Junior Football League will be returning back to action on Sunday 11th April where we have currently extended the season until the end of May with the possibility of playing further Sundays once we receive confirmation from the venues. We are also looking into the possibility of playing late afternoon midweek matches but we are again waiting for confirmation. It is our intention to include a cup competition for each of our age groups Under 7, Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10 and we look forward to most of our games being officiated by qualified referees and our matches played on state-of-the-art all weather pitches.
An announcement from Maccabi GB Masters Football League Chairman David Jacobs Well , after 16 weeks away from a football pitch, the season starts in earnest again for the Maccabi Masters. Dusting down the boots , plenty of exercise, a short sprint up and the down the garden, and yes, we’re back in business on 11th April. With quite a lot of fixtures to complete we are hopeful of finishing the league by the end of June ( heatwaves permitting ), not forgetting that we still have our two cup finals from last season to play in May. Lots of football to be played - watch this space for updates.
An announcement from Maccabi GB Southern Football League Chairman David Wolff Now that lockdown is slowing being eased, I am sure that everybody is eagerly awaiting the return to Grassroots Football. Our first games will be after Pesach on April 11th but please note that prior to April 12th NO SPECTATORS are allowed. After that date they are then allowed under strict SOCIAL DISTANCING rules. There will also be a mix of double headers and mid week games. The Cyril Anekstein Cup will be played but only on mid-week dates and each round needs to be completed by specific dates that have already been. Let us hope that the games are played in the right spirit and that we can bring the season to a conclusion by June 30th.
