An announcement from Manchester Jewish Soccer League Chairman, Paul Rose Last weekend saw Haroldeans over the line as MJSL Champions in their double header by beating Reich 7-0 and 4-0. They now have an unassailable lead but there were strange circumstances regarding the second match whereby several Reich players left the venue at half time and rendered the game abandoned, the score stood and MCFA will follow up the cause for the termination of the match.
Elsewhere BPR finished their league campaign by beating second placed Maccabi 3rd 5-2 as Broughton look towards 2 cup final appearances in the next 3 weeks. On Sunday the final league matches are Reich v Jewventus and Maccabi 3rd v Haroldeans, the league trophy will be presented at 11.45 after the latter.
Next Wednesday, Haroldeans meet BPR in the first MJSL final of the season at Styal FC. Kick off is 7.30pm in the Tony Cohen Memorial Cup, our oldest sponsored competition since 1967-68. The Merseysiders are strong favourites but BPR are the only team to have taken a point off Haroldeans in the league so should be an interesting match.
