Maccabi GB, in partnership with UJIA and the Jewish Chronicle, have confirmed the Table Tennis squad who will compete at the European Maccabi Games in Budapest this summer.
The squad, headed up by Eli Baraty, is made up of highly talented young individuals who play at high local league level as well as a few nationally ranked players who will give the squad a good chance of bringing home some medals.
Speaking about the aims for the Games, Baraty said, “The aim as always, is to have fun and enjoy both the Jewish culture and unity alongside sporting competition. Of course we target podium positions and if possible a gold medal. There have been a few Jewish world champions in the past which naturally makes our sport very competitive so hopefully we will follow in their footsteps and bring back gold for Great Britain.”

Team Maccabi GB will be competing alongside 3,000 other Jewish athletes from across Europe and Israel, Australia and America from 28th July – 7th August 2019.
