Making Voices Heard: Stand Up!’s Month of Growth and Impact

July has been an excellent month for the Stand Up! team, filled with celebration, expansion, and new connections as we brought our message to more cities and communities across the UK.

Monthly Impact

Across all our activities this month, we visited six different schools and reached an impressive 1,480 students through a powerful mix of anti-bullying and core sessions, demonstrating the growing demand for our vital work. This number takes our total reach for this academic year to 18,555. Stand Up! was also invited to speak at the Faith Forum for London’s Young Leaders Civic Engagement Programme 2025. This is a programme for 16–19-year-olds passionate about civic participation and democratic change, and it was a great opportunity for the team to have meaningful conversations and inspire the next generation of upstanders.

Liverpool and Manchester Tours

ree

We delivered workshops at the city's only Jewish school in collaboration with our partners at Streetwise. This was an excellent opportunity to interact with a unique community of diverse students. The team delivered a range of sessions, including anti-bullying, antisemitism, and how to have healthy dialogues. Stand Up! also returned to Manchester for another impactful tour, this time focusing on anti-bullying workshops at Co-op Manchester Academy, where we continued to strengthen our presence in the Northwest. These northern tours highlighted the growing demand for our work outside of London and reinforced the importance of building lasting relationships in communities across the UK.

Glasgow Maccabi Scheme

Our journey north extended to Glasgow, where we were invited to help lead the Maccabi summer scheme, facilitating on-site activities and multiple day trips such as roller skating and treetop adventures. The team also delivered workshops for both young participants and staff members, with a focus on how to build a sense of community and belonging. This opportunity allowed us to work in a different setting, supporting both children and the adults who guide them at camp. The experience highlighted the importance of creating safe, inclusive environments in all youth programmes.

ASULP Graduation

The highlight of July was undoubtedly our ASULP graduation event, where we celebrated the fantastic achievements of 100 students from 10 schools across London. The evening was truly inspiring, as these young leaders showcased their innovative projects, demonstrating the creativity, passion, and commitment they’ve developed throughout the Alan Senitt Upstanders Leadership Programme. We were honoured to hear moving speeches from Abi Wander (Streetwise Manager) and Jonathan Prevezer (Maccabi GB Chairman), who spoke about the impact ASULP has had on the interfaith community. We also heard from Emma Senitt, whose words perfectly captured the spirit of youth leadership and the importance of standing up for what’s right. The graduation served as a powerful reminder of the impact ASULP has on young people, empowering them to become driving forces of positive change in their communities.

Looking Forward

As we move into the summer break, the team is already making bookings for schools in London and beyond. The energy and enthusiasm from this year’s ASULP cohort have made us excited and ready to build on this success in the coming year.
