Jewish Blind and Disabled

Jewish Blind & Disabled is the only charity giving Jewish adults with physical disabilities and/or vision impairments access to adapted housing and 24/7 in-person support - enabling independence, dignity and choice.

Our seven developments of specially adapted mobility apartments provide over 360 people with a key to a home that meets their physical and community needs. Each block offers:

24/7 onsite house managers and alarm call systems - providing peace of mind to tenants and their families

A place to meet our tenants’ cultural needs - our communal lounges allow tenants to get together to celebrate Yom Tovs and participate in religious events and educational talks

Warm, supportive communities where tenants can celebrate birthdays, take classes or simply socialise whenever they wish

Plus, our free Independent Living Advisory Service enables people to stay independent for longer in their own homes. Our visiting team of occupational therapists can offer expert advice and recommendations for aids and adaptations, ranging from bath boards, to grab rails, to assistive technology and many other items to make life easier. If needed, we also support people to apply for funding for larger items, or we’ll provide a loan or grant.
