Save a Child's Heart

Save A Child's Heart is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit Israeli organisation, recognised by the EU and UN Population award winner 2018.

SACH was founded in 1995 at the Wolfson Medical Centre in Holon, Israel, with the mission of improving the quality of paediatric cardiac care for children in developing countries and creating centres of competence in these countries.

Congenital Heart disease affects 1 in 100 children who without these lifesaving operations would live a short, debilitating life, rarely making it into their teens.

To date , SACH have saved the lives of over 7500 children from 71 countries including those that Israel does not have diplomatic relations with i.e. Syria & Afghanistan. Surgeries are carried out at no charge to the patients, the costs are covered by fundraisers across the globe.

Save A Child’s Heart is a team of 70 surgeons, cardiologists, physicians, technicians, and nurses. They are Jewish, Christian, and Muslim and in addition to saving so many children’s lives have carried out many teaching and medical missions to 30 countries and more than 70 medical cardiology clinics around the world, examining around 9,500 children. They have also brought to Israel and trained 140 surgeons, cardiologists, physicians, and nurses from developing countries in the advanced techniques of open-heart surgery, anaesthesia, and intensive care.

SACH has a "revolving door" policy - each arrival and departure is a reminder of the impact we are making - one heart at a time. By mending hearts, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, or financial status, SACH contributes to a more peaceful and productive world; a happier, healthier world, and a better world for all children, and their families.
