Through cost-free summer day-camps and year-round in-hospital programs across Israel, Sunrise-Israel brings the joys of childhood back to children battling cancer - and to their healthy siblings - replacing the months and years of laughter, friendship, and carefree growing up that illness steals. In pediatric oncology wards and at our unique joyful, life-affirming, summer day-camps, we transform pain, fear, and loneliness into something every child deserves: hope, resilience, and the simple, irreplaceable experience of being a kid.



What makes Sunrise-Israel unique is not just what we do - but who we do it with. Jewish and Arab children participate side by side, forging genuine friendships across language, culture, and background, in an environment of shared vulnerability and shared joy. Together, they set aside their differences and connect through their shared experience of battling cancer. Unexpected friendships emerge from which all children draw strength and comfort.



Our evidence-based approach confirms what we have always known: joy builds resilience, and resilience helps children fight their disease. Sunrise-Israel programs form a stable anchor for the entire family during the hardest period of their lives - strengthening the sick child's ability to cope, helping healthy siblings feel included once again through shared quality experiences, offering vital respite to parents, and keeping one eye always on the future. With 85% of children recovering from childhood cancer, we are determined to help ensure that they have the social confidence and emotional strength to smoothly re-integrate into their childhood upon recovery.



Since our inception, in 2010, Sunrise-Israel has brought joy, hope and resilience to over 10,000 Israeli children battling cancer.
