Reflecting on a Productive April with Streetwise and Stand Up!

This April, Streetwise has reached over 400 participants in both schools and communities. Some session highlights included delivering a New Beginnings programme to Yavneh College’s Year 13 cohort, where we recapped sessions delivered throughout their secondary school career and thought about how to apply it to their next chapters, whether that be university, the workplace or travelling! Another highlight was visiting JCoSS to deliver a newly developed Online Safety session on the topic of Deep Fakes & AI. The feedback from both teachers and students on this session was extremely positive. Our Krav Maga workshops have continued to run successfully, now running weekly at JCoSS, JFS & Yavneh for multiple year groups.

April has been a productive month for the Stand Up! team. Alongside workshops in schools across London, Mohammed and Karl (Stand Up! project coordinators) have been on a Northern Tour, educating over 700 students in Birmingham, Manchester and Wakefield across 25 workshops.

Meanwhile, Jodie and Zaynab have been finalising grant applications and have submitted the report marking the end of the fourth year of MOPAC’s SEF funding.

In April, the Stand Up! team reached a significant milestone – educating 100,000 students since our launch in 2017. We are excited and energised to continue educating, breaking down stereotypes, and inspiring young people.
