Maccabi GB is delighted to announce the appointment of Joe Jacobson as a Trustee of the organisation.

Joe brings with him nearly two decades of experience from a distinguished professional football career, most notably with Wycombe Wanderers, where he served as club captain and became a central figure both on and off the pitch. Renowned for his leadership, prof
essionalism, and consistency, Joe played a key role during some of the most successful periods in the club’s modern history, including promotion to the Championship.
As one of the most prominent Jewish players in the modern English game, Joe has long been a visible role model. He has spoken openly about identity, belonging, and the importance of creating inclusive environments within football. Those experiences give him a clear and practical understanding of both the opportunities and the challenges that exist across sport and wider society.
Since retiring from playing, Joe has moved into senior leadership and governance. He is currently Co CEO of Reading FC and is a member of the FA’s and Kick It Out’s Antisemitsm working groups.
Jonathan Prevezer, Chair of Maccabi GB, said:“Joe brings a rare combination of elite sporting experience, modern football leadership, and deep personal understanding of Jewish identity and belonging. His credibility within the game will be a huge asset to Maccabi GB as we continue to grow our impact and ambition. We are delighted to welcome him to the Board.”
Joe Jacobson said:
“It is a hugely proud moment for me to join the Board of such an incredible and well established Organisation.”
Joe’s appointment further strengthens Maccabi GB’s Board of Trustees as the organisation continues to strive for a healthy, active and proud Jewish community integrated within British society.
