Norwood Summer Camp Collaboration – Sporting Fun for All

This month, we’ve been delighted to continue our partnership with Norwood, delivering a series of basic sporting fun sessions at their Summer Camp.

These relaxed and engaging activities have included everything from ball games and relay races to parachute games and group challenges – all aimed at creating joyful, inclusive experiences for young people. The focus has been on participation, enjoyment, and movement, providing a positive and active outlet during the summer holidays.

Primary School Tournaments

July marked the end of our Primary School tournament calendar, concluding what has been an incredibly successful year

Across 24 tournaments, we welcomed 5,380 players and 166 teams, offering sporting opportunities to children across the Jewish primary school network. These events focused on participation, enjoyment, and development, and we are proud of the positive impact they’ve had on pupils, staff, and schools alike.

Community Sports Update – Summer Engagement & Future Planning

Grassroots Clubs

Our grassroots community sports clubs are currently on a well-earned summer break, with sessions resuming in late August.

In the meantime, we’re actively planning a series of grassroots community events for the second half of the year, with upcoming activities to include tennis, netball, basketball, and other sports, aimed at broadening participation across ages and abilities.

Walking Football

The Maccabi GB Strollers Walking Football Club continues to thrive, with over 20 players attending weekly sessions. These provide a fantastic opportunity for older adults to stay active and socially connected in a supportive environment.

Next month, we’ll be hosting a Walking Football Community Event in August, delivered in partnership with the Strollers. With over 60 players already signed up, it’s set to be a great day of sport, connection, and celebration.

Padel Tournament

Final preparations are underway for the inaugural Maccabi GB Community Padel Tournament, taking place in September 2025. This open tournament for players aged 16+ will offer a fun and inclusive opportunity to experience one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports.
