After a Summer break to rest and recharge, Maccabiah training has begun again with renewed enthusiasm and motivation for Maccabi GB squads, with the Netball Open, U17 & U19 squads resuming their training as well as the Maccabiah Pickleball Squad. They are all demonstrating energy and eagerness to start building momentum towards the Games in 2026.

Other teams that have resumed their training include the Futsal 45+ squad as well as the Football 55+ squad. The Boys U17 Boys Football team plays their first match before the end of the month.
Players and Managers are adjusting well to the new U17 and U19 Junior categories, optimistic that this will broaden the reach of both individual and team sports, greatly assisting team recruitment.
Trials are scheduled to resume after the Jewish High Holidays in Swimming with other sports to follow.
On the planning and logistics side, preparations for the Games in 2026 has already begun, with an update from Maccabi World Union outlining proposed event timelines and procedures for the Games.
Team GB’s Managers and Chairs have also had their first group meeting and update since the postponement of the Games, bringing them up to date with official planning as well as renewing motivation and enthusiasm as squads resume their training and preparations.
In other news, Maccabi GB is organising what promises to be a fantastic week-long tour for a group of 11 Lawn Bowlers in Israel during the last week of October, in partnership with Kfar Maccabiah and the Israel Experience. They will play at 4 Bowls Clubs across Israel as well as having the opportunity to visit Southern communities and the Nova Festival site that were brutally attacked on October 7th.
