JLC

The Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) exists to lead in building and sustaining a thriving Jewish community in the UK, working in close partnership with communal organisations, leaders and wider society. Our vision is of a confident, safe and engaged Jewish community that is well led, connected and able to flourish for generations to come.

The JLC plays a national leadership role, convening and supporting Jewish organisations and leaders, strengthening the community’s voice, and representing the community to government, policymakers, the media and key institutions. Our work is built around trusted collaboration with our 37 members, recognising that a strong, resilient community is achieved collectively. Alongside this, we act as a visible and trusted advocate, working to protect the community, challenge antisemitism, and ensure Jewish voices are heard and respected in public life.

Our leadership development division, Lead, exists to build skilled, connected and confident professional and lay leaders across the UK which ensures a vibrant charitable ecosystem with high standards of governance and impact. This is done through our flagship programmes; the Adam Science Leadership Programme for emerging leaders and the Dangoor Senior Leadership Programme. We are also launching a middle management programme in 2026 to cover the need for dedicated training to these communal professionals. We also run several training programmes, networking forums and development conferences through the year which touch on a host of different topics.
